- JEE Main Performance : Must be among the top 2,50,000 candidates (including all categories) in Paper 1 of JEE (Main) 2026.
- Age Limit : Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 2001. 5-year relaxation for SC/ST/PwD (born on or after Oct 1, 1996).
- Number of Attempts : A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in two consecutive years.
- Appearance in Class 12 : Must have first appeared for Class 12 (or equivalent) in 2025 or 2026. Required subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics.
- Earlier Admission at IITs : Must NOT have been admitted to an IIT previously. Candidates whose admission was cancelled are also ineligible.

Exam Pattern |
The exam will consist of two compulsory papers, both conducted in computer-based mode. Date: May 17, 2026 (Sunday) Paper Schedule Each paper will have a duration of three hours, and candidates must appear for both papers to be considered for ranking.JEE Advanced 2026 Exam Pattern. The JEE Advanced exam pattern will largely remain similar to the previous year. Key features Computer-based test format. Two papers, both mandatory. Subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Question types may include multiple-choice, numerical, and comprehension-based questions.
Eligibility to appear in the exam will be restricted to the top 2.5 lakh candidates of JEE Main 2026 in the B.E./B.Tech paper. |

- Login: Click on the registration link and use your JEE Main 2026 application number and password to log in.
- Complete Registration & Verify Details : Fill in the application form with personal and academic details. Information from JEE Main 2026 will be auto-populated.
- Upload Documents : Upload the required documents, such as a photograph, signature, and category certificates.
- Pay Application Fee : Pay the registration fee through the online payment portal (Debit Card, Credit Card, Internet Banking) by May 04, 2026.
- Submit & Print : Review all filled details carefully and submit the form. Take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference.

Selection Process |
- 1. Eligibility Assessment : Candidates must secure a rank in the top 2,50,000 (across all categories) in the B.E./B.Tech paper of JEE Main 2026.
- 2. Registration : Only eligible candidates must register on the official JEE (Advanced) website. Registration is open from April 23 to May 02, 2026.
- 3. Academic Criteria : Candidates must have cleared their Class XII (or equivalent) board exam with at least 75% (65% for SC/ST/PwD) or be in the top 20 percentile of their board.
- 4. Exam Pattern : The exam on May 17, 2026, consists of two mandatory Computer Based Test (CBT) papers (Paper 1 & Paper 2).
- 5. Admission/Allocation : Based on JEE Advanced performance, students participate in the JoSAA counseling process for seat allocation across IITs.
