Course Name	Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor of Design (B.Des)	Candidates must have passed Class 12th from any recognized board, including NIOS, or must hold a 3–4 year diploma or an equivalent qualification approved by a recognized authority. Applicants must also meet the prescribed age limit, follow the official guidelines, and be Indian citizens to apply.
Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech.)	Candidates must have passed Class 12th with Mathematics as a subject, or they must hold a 3–4 year Engineering Diploma from a recognized institution. Applicants must also fulfill the required age criteria and must be citizens of India to be considered eligible.
Master of Design (M. Des.)	Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from a recognized university, or they must possess a 3-year Diploma from NIFT or NID. Applicants should also meet the prescribed age limit and must be citizens of India to qualify for the application process.
Master of Fashion Management (M.F.M.)	Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any stream from a recognized university, or a 3-year Diploma from NIFT or NID to be eligible. Along with the educational qualification, applicants must also fulfill the required age criteria and be Indian citizens as per official guidelines.
Master of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech.)	Candidates must have completed B.F.Tech from NIFT or hold a B.E./B.Tech degree from a recognized university or institution. Applicants must also satisfy the age requirements and be citizens of India as per official rules.
Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) For Artisan Category	Candidates must have passed Class 12th from a recognized board, including NIOS, or possess a 3–4 year Diploma or an equivalent qualification. Additionally, applicants must have a valid Artisan Card. Along with the educational criteria, candidates must also fulfill the prescribed age limit and be citizens of India as per official guidelines.
How to Apply
Visit Website : Go to the official NTA NIFTEE website: `https://exams.nta.nic.in/niftee/`. Registration : Click on the registration link and enter basic details (name, DOB, email, mobile number) to get login credentials. Fill Form : Log in to fill out the detailed application form, including academic qualifications and exam city preferences. Upload Documents : Upload scanned images of a recent passport-size photograph, signature, and other required certificates (e.g., category certificate). Fee Payment : Pay the application fee (₹2,000 for Gen/OBC/EWS, ₹500 for SC/ST/PwD) via Credit Card, Debit Card, or Net Banking. Submit & Print : Review all details and submit the form. Selection Process
Stage 1 : Entrance Examination (8 Feb 2026) GAT (General Ability Test) : Mandatory for all programs (B.Des, M.Des, B.FTech, MFM, M.FTech). It assesses quantitative, communication, analytical, and logical skills. CAT (Creative Ability Test) : Required for B.Des and M.Des to assess design intuition, drawing ability, and creativity. Stage 2 : Situation Test / Interview Situation Test : Shortlisted B.Des candidates must appear for this in-person, hands-on test focusing on material handling and innovation. Personal Interview (PI) : Required for M.Des and MFM candidates to evaluate industry knowledge and aptitude. Final Selection : Merit lists are prepared based on weightage from the entrance tests (GAT/CAT) and the interview/situation test.
